We fell in love with Oman because it’s safe, beautiful, and has preserved its natural charm. It’s a place where ancient traditions gracefully meet modernity. If we love it, you’re bound to adore Oman too!
Oman stands out for its rich culture, breathtaking landscapes, and welcoming locals. Unlike its bustling neighbors, Oman offers a tranquil and authentic experience that captivates all who visit. Here’s why you should plan your trip:
Natural Wonders: From the golden sands of the Wahiba Desert to the turquoise waters of the Daymaniyat Islands, Oman’s diverse landscapes are a photographer’s dream.
Cultural Richness: Explore ancient forts, traditional souqs, and UNESCO World Heritage Sites that tell the story of Oman’s fascinating history.
Adventure Opportunities: Whether you’re into hiking, diving, or dune bashing, Oman has something for every adventurer.
Hospitality: Omanis are known for their warmth and generosity, making every visitor feel at home.
Oman is beautiful year-round, but knowing the seasons can help you plan your ideal trip:
Love the heat? Visit from May to August when temperatures soar past 45°C. Flights and hotels are cheaper, and you’ll enjoy quieter activities with fewer crowds.
Prefer cooler weather? Aim for October to April when the temperatures range from 17°C to 30°C, making it perfect for outdoor adventures.
Our top tip: Late September offers warm but bearable weather from 35°C to 39°C, and prices remain budget-friendly. It’s an ideal time to enjoy the best of both worlds!
Getting around Oman is part of the adventure. Here’s what you need to know:
Rent a Car: Driving is the easiest way to explore Oman, especially if your itinerary includes remote areas. For off-road adventures, opt for a 4x4.
Taxi Apps: Stick to the OTaxi and Tasleem apps. They’re much cheaper than flagging down local taxis, but always compare prices between the two apps as they can vary.
Public Buses: Use the Mwasalat App for schedules and routes. While we haven’t personally tried them, they’re a highly recommended budget-friendly option.
Pro Tip: Drop your pin slightly away from your hotel when booking a taxi app for significantly lower fares.
Payment: Bank cards are widely accepted, but keep cash on hand for smaller markets and taxis, as adding a card to the apps can sometimes be tricky.
Dress Code: Oman is relaxed but modest—cover shoulders and knees, especially when visiting mosques. At beaches and resorts, you’re free to dress as you like.
Sunscreen: It is your best friend anywhere, everyday. trust us, you will thank us later.
Local Etiquette: Greet locals with a smile, and learn a few basic phrases in Arabic to show respect.
Oman’s charm lies in its diverse attractions. Here are a few highlights to add to your itinerary:
